Supermarket Street Sweep
The scene
San Francisco’s alleycat scene centres on the SF Bike Messenger Association, whose Quake City Rumble weekend of alleycats ran again in November 2024 and 2025. Since 2005 volunteers have run the Supermarket Street Sweep, a charity alleycat inspired by Cranksgiving; Pride Cat raises money for trans and LGBTQ+ groups each June, OB415 runs bandit cyclocross in city parks on summer evenings, and across the bay FWB Oakland runs Alley Cute for teams and the Scaredy Cat scavenger race from Snow Park last ran in November 2025. The fixed-gear Mission Crit weekend included a checkpoint alleycat until 2022.

How races get in here
The directory is curated by ALLEYKAT. Races timed on the app appear in their city on their own once they have a date or have been run, and everything else is added by hand after we have checked it against the organiser’s own page. There is no form and no fee.
