The scene
Portland’s grassroots racing is posted mostly on the Shift2Bikes community calendar, where riders list alleycats, scavenger races and cargo bike contests, most of them between June and September. Recurring events include the Bicycle Kitty Alley Catty in Brentwood-Darlington, La.F.A.R.T. at Ladd’s Circle and the Carry Sh*t Olympics cargo bike weekend, and the city’s Cranksgiving is a fundraiser alleycat for Portland Street Medicine. On foot, Run Pacifica’s free PDX 50-50 has crossed the city on an unmarked route each year since 2023, and runners cover the full Wildwood Trail as a fat ass every New Year’s Eve.

How races get in here
The directory is curated by ALLEYKAT. Races timed on the app appear in their city on their own once they have a date or have been run, and everything else is added by hand after we have checked it against the organiser’s own page. There is no form and no fee.
