The scene
Montreal’s best-known alleycat is La Course des Morts, an autumn checkpoint race for bike messengers and anyone else that started about 150 riders in 2016 and holds its 2026 edition on November 7, with a Cobble Cat race at Square Victoria the night before. On foot, RUNK Series, which calls itself an unsanctioned running series, has run the RunAround125 relay around the island since 2018 and alleycat-style checkpoint runs since 2020, often with entry paid as a donation to a community organisation. The Mount-Royal Summit Quest, a low-cost fat-ass road run to the top of Mount Royal held from 2003 to 2019, returns on October 30 and 31, 2026.

How races get in here
The directory is curated by ALLEYKAT. Races timed on the app appear in their city on their own once they have a date or have been run, and everything else is added by hand after we have checked it against the organiser’s own page. There is no form and no fee.
