The scene
London’s unsanctioned races are mostly running. Unsanctioned Athletics, founded in Nottingham in 2023, held its first London race from Soar’s Shoreditch store in early 2024 and has run several London races a year since, with its next, Streets to Summits from Oxford Street to a secret finish in Highgate, on sale without a date. New York’s Take the Bridge and Midnight Half both ran London editions in 2019.

Checkpoint races with no set route: in the first London race runners visited St Paul’s station, Rough Trade East and a pub by Victoria Park in any order and returned to Soar’s Shoreditch store.

The directory is curated by ALLEYKAT. Races timed on the app appear in their city on their own once they have a date or have been run, and everything else is added by hand after we have checked it against the organiser’s own page. There is no form and no fee.
