The scene
Atlanta’s grassroots racing runs mostly on foot. The Georgia Ultrarunning and Trailrunning Society (GUTS) holds free runs for its members, including the Atlanta Fat Ass, a post-holiday 50K and 25K at Sweetwater Creek State Park since 1994, and the Pumpkin Butt 50K in Kennesaw, and #runtheatl has raced around the finished and unfinished parts of the BeltLine since 2015. On bikes, The Spindle, a bag maker and shop on Auburn Avenue, hosted the city’s 2025 Cranksgiving alleycat.

How races get in here
The directory is curated by ALLEYKAT. Races timed on the app appear in their city on their own once they have a date or have been run, and everything else is added by hand after we have checked it against the organiser’s own page. There is no form and no fee.
